Christopher Hill
Founder & CEO
Christopher Hill is the Founder and CEO of PerkSpot. Chris has led the company from concept to profitability and currently focuses his efforts on business development, strategy, and day-to-day operations.

Before founding PerkSpot in 2006, Chris worked for Lake Capital, a Chicago-based private equity firm, managing portfolio companies and evaluating acquisition opportunities in the business services space. Prior to Lake Capital, he worked in Houlihan Lokey’s healthcare investment banking unit. Chris earned a BS in Business & Economics from Taylor University.

Chris currently serves on the Board of Directors of Griffith Tutoring, a non-profit organization preparing underprivileged Chicago high school students for the ACT college entrance exam.

Gavin Hoffman
President
Gavin is responsible for overall business development, client acquisition and operations at PerkSpot. He continues to position the company as a leading perks and benefits provider for clients throughout the country. Before joining PerkSpot, Gavin was in the investment banking department at William Blair & Company, specializing in middle market mergers, acquisitions and public equity financings in a variety of industries including business and healthcare services. Gavin began his career in the institutional equities division at Piper Jaffray. In between his two stints in financial services, Gavin managed the business development initiatives at JobDig, an employment media start-up located in Minneapolis. Gavin holds a BS in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Stephanie Hurlbert
VP of Marketing
Prior to coming to PerkSpot, Stephanie was a Senior Brand Manager at Kraft Foods, Inc., where she spent the past ten years doing marketing and brand management.  During her tenure at Kraft, she worked on over fifteen different businesses within the portfolio.  Her experience includes roles leading both base business marketing and product innovation on several of the company’s most iconic brands like Jell-O, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, and A.1. Steak Sauce.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from The University of Michigan and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Jeff Mahlmeister
VP of Engineering
Before PerkSpot, Jeff was an application architect at Kraft Foods, providing technical leadership for world-wide Supply Chain applications.  Jeff developed global architectural designs, defined best practices, and ensured application development quality. Jeff has extensive experience with both custom development and package installations. Prior to Kraft Foods, Jeff worked for Cap Gemini Ernst & Young in their Advanced Development Center. Jeff earned a BS in Computer Science from Indiana University.

Branden Smythe
Founder & VP of National Sales
Branden managed territory accounts for Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, a German pharmaceutical company, before joining PerkSpot. Prior to Boehringer, he worked for InterVarsity, a non-profit organization focused on serving college students, where he ran the Indiana University chapter and oversaw other national initiatives. Branden earned a BS in Finance & International Business from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
