Senior Developer

PerkSpot is looking for a talented application developer to join our growing tech team, located in Chicago, IL.

The Senior Developer will be responsible for designing technology solutions and help ensure the overall success of technology initiatives which support the strategic goals of the business. This position will work closely with the Director of Technology and his/her team members. The position will be primarily hands on coding, but will require some technology leadership, code reviews, and business acumen.

A desire to work in a start up environment is a must and an ability to help evaluate the ROI of proposed tech projects is a plus.

Education

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, IS or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience required.

Technical Skills:

• Minimum 3 years experience developing ASP.NET web applications, using C#, with a Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 back-end
• Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript mandatory
• Experience designing/developing/consuming Web Services
• Demonstrated experience with relational database concepts
• 3 years experience developing stored procedures, triggers, views
• Demonstrated knowledge of Object Oriented Application Design
• Experience with Windows Server 2008 a plus
• Proficiency with graphic design programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator a plus

Other Skills

• Demonstrated ability to perform in demanding multi-tasking environments
• Good communication skills, collaborative work style.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment is a must.
• Applies knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve solutions
• Samples code and mentors team members.
• Ability to decipher business requirements into the overall solution

Senior Voluntary Benefits Producer

PerkSpot is hiring a Senior Voluntary Benefits Producer for our worksite benefits team at PerkSpot, located in Chicago, IL. The Senior Voluntary Benefits Producer will be responsible for contacting prospective and existing client companies about PerkSpot’s voluntary benefits platform.

You will be working with a small team of talented people and will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact. Given the small environment, you will be expected to be a team player. We’re looking for someone who is hard working with a record of achievement.

Ideal Qualities

• Manage key processes and internal activities to deliver client-facing services
• Establish ability to work as broker with medium and large size accounts
• Possess basic competency on assigned coverages
• Possess and utilize basic negotiation skills for the brokerage process
• Works independently
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Previous insurance and/or voluntary benefits experience preferred
• Property & Casualty and/or Health & Life Insurance Producer License

Minimum Education

The candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university.

Minimum Work Experience

The candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of insurance brokerage experience
