Senior Developer

PerkSpot, a leading employee perks and loyalty company with over 1.6 million employees accessing its platform, is looking for a talented senior application developer to join our growing tech team. This is a full time position (located in Chicago, IL) offering an extremely competitive salary and health benefits.

The Senior Developer will be responsible for designing and developing custom solutions and help ensure the overall success of technology initiatives which support the strategic goals of the business. This position will work closely with the Director of Technology and his/her team members. The position will be primarily hands on coding, but it will also require some technology leadership and analytical skills to decipher complex business requirements.

A desire to work in a start up environment is a must.

The ideal candidate must be able to hit the ground running. The candidate will have a strong background in web development, database design, and developing mission critical applications. Professional, experienced, and self-motivated developers only.

Education and Work Experience

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, IS or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience required

Technical Skills:

• Must be extremely proficient in Microsoft .NET development with demonstrated experience using ASP.NET C# 3.5/4.0
• Strong, demonstrated knowledge of database design and creation of stored procedures, triggers, and views (Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008)
• Proficient with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience designing/developing/consuming Web Services
• Demonstrated knowledge of Object Oriented Application Design
• Knowledge and understanding of XML
• Experience with MVC2 a big plus (or demonstrated experience with MVC architecture in general)

Other Skills

• Must possess ability to work in a small development team and perform in demanding multi-tasking environments
• Good verbal and written communication skills are a must
• Ability to decipher business requirements and transfer into development

Senior Voluntary Benefits Producer

PerkSpot is hiring a Senior Voluntary Benefits Producer for our worksite benefits team at PerkSpot, located in Chicago, IL. The Senior Voluntary Benefits Producer will be responsible for contacting prospective and existing client companies about PerkSpot’s voluntary benefits platform.

You will be working with a small team of talented people and will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact. Given the small environment, you will be expected to be a team player. We’re looking for someone who is hard working with a record of achievement.

Ideal Qualities

• Manage key processes and internal activities to deliver client-facing services
• Establish ability to work as broker with medium and large size accounts
• Possess basic competency on assigned coverages
• Possess and utilize basic negotiation skills for the brokerage process
• Works independently
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Previous insurance and/or voluntary benefits experience preferred
• Property & Casualty and/or Health & Life Insurance Producer License

Minimum Education

The candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university.

Minimum Work Experience

The candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of insurance brokerage experience
