PerkSpot Announces Launch of New Daily Deal Service, crowdclick

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

PerkSpot shared some exciting news this week, as it unveiled its new collective buying service in Chicago, crowdclick. The new service features valuable daily deals from local merchants and is the first of its kind designed to connect merchants with employees of local Chicagoland corporations – our PerkSpot members.

We strive to bring our PerkSpot members the best deals at both a national and local level, so crowdclick is a natural way to offer great deals in local markets. PerkSpot members can log in to get the crowdclick deal of the day, which will feature savings of up to 90% off at restaurants, spas/salons, fitness studios, local events and more.

Additionally, the crowdclick service gives our corporate partners a new way to support local commerce and the merchants in their community, which is great. Though the service is only currently available in Chicagoland, aggressive expansion plans are in place to offer it more broadly.

The launch has garnered great press, so take a look to find out more!

PerkSpot featured in the Wall Street Journal

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Today’s Wall Street Journal includes an article entitled Even With a Recovery, Job Perks May Not Return. The article gives a good overview of how many fringe benefits and perks have been cut by employers in the current economic environment. However, as the leading provider of voluntary benefit and employee discount programs, PerkSpot becomes a logical choice for companies looking for a no-cost solution to help their employees save money.

Some firms are trying to soften the blow of salary freezes or benefit cuts by adding voluntary benefits, says Chris Hill, CEO of PerkSpot, a Chicago company that administers voluntary, or employee-paid, benefits and discount programs for companies and public institutions—which cost the firms little or nothing.

Mr. Hill recently worked with a large national retailer who added a voluntary auto and home insurance program, along with access to discounts with merchants like Dell and Target Corp.

How Can You Save Your Employees More Money?

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

As Black Friday and Cyber Monday approach, many retailers and service provides are offering amazing deals and promotions to kick off the holiday shopping season. In fact, this is a great time for all consumers to save money during the time of the year when they spend the most.

As a Human Resources administrator or someone involved in your company’s benefits, Black Friday and Cyber Monday should also prompt you to think hard about how you have helped your employees save money this year. Do you offer group rates on voluntary benefits like home and auto insurance? Do you offer financial protection options such as a legal plan or identity theft solutions? Do you offer discounts year-round to your employees such as 10% off at Target.com, 5% off at Southwest Vacations, and 20% off at FTD.com?

As the war for talent continues over the next several years, industry-leading companies and Human Resources departments will be able to confidently answer these questions.

Health. Care. No Harm Necessary.

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Every doctor, when they embark upon the field of medicine, takes the Hippocratic oath…the crux of which is the ultimate healthcare mantra, “Do no harm.” And whether you’ve been watching the news or not – there’s no avoiding it…healthcare is on the tip of everyone’s tongue. How could it not be? We’re all human, we all get ill, have the occasional cavity, know that accidents happen, and have family that we want to see protected from accidents. Healthcare’s not just on the tip of the tongue! It’s the entirety of your body at stake here! No wonder there’s always a fuss whenever the subject comes into public discourse.

It’s a heavy word, a charged word, a compound word – made up of two words, “health” and “care”.

It’s a word that’s everyone’s saying these days – released in a scream, a chant, a speech, a whisper (for more variations, check your preferred 24 hour news channel)  — but what’s it mean?

  • The definition of health is: the general condition of the body or mind with reference to soundness and vigor
  • The definition of care is: a state of mind in which one is troubled; worry, anxiety, or concern

Does this mean healthcare’s definition describes the soundness and vigor of your condition in a state of trouble and worry?!?! Surely not. Do no harm, right?

Access to good healthcare means access to good doctors, and visa versa. PerkSpot’s GoHealth insurance program provides just that. And it’ll do no harm to your sanity because – FINALLY – it’s making purchasing health insurance simple. Imagine the time your human resources department would save if it offered your employees this kind of voluntary benefit program and employee discount program. PerkSpot’s GoHealth does all the work AND explains things clearly. No need to find the real meaning in that. What it means is time saved and satisfied employees.

No harm done.
