Intangible Benefits of Employee Discount Programs

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

If you work in Human Resources, you are surely familiar with how employees value certain perks and benefits of your particular organization. Some of these benefits are easy to quantify while others are more difficult as they can affect an employee’s well-being and attitude. As these intangible benefits can be difficult to measure, PerkSpot has helped several clients by providing them with qualitative responses and interactions the PerkSpot team has with various users and employees of our clients. PerkSpot also conducts occasional surveys that seek to deliver more value to the employee by improving the various aspects of the PerkSpot program — ranging from the specifics of a discount on apparel to the coverages on a home insurance policy. And while the feedback from existing PerkSpot clients confirms we are a value-added partner, it’s often the user feedback we receive that surprises our clients the most. When they see the intangible benefits an employee receives by using PerkSpot, we celebrate a truly win-win-win relationship for employer, employee, and PerkSpot.

Health. Care. No Harm Necessary.

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Every doctor, when they embark upon the field of medicine, takes the Hippocratic oath…the crux of which is the ultimate healthcare mantra, “Do no harm.” And whether you’ve been watching the news or not – there’s no avoiding it…healthcare is on the tip of everyone’s tongue. How could it not be? We’re all human, we all get ill, have the occasional cavity, know that accidents happen, and have family that we want to see protected from accidents. Healthcare’s not just on the tip of the tongue! It’s the entirety of your body at stake here! No wonder there’s always a fuss whenever the subject comes into public discourse.

It’s a heavy word, a charged word, a compound word – made up of two words, “health” and “care”.

It’s a word that’s everyone’s saying these days – released in a scream, a chant, a speech, a whisper (for more variations, check your preferred 24 hour news channel)  — but what’s it mean?

  • The definition of health is: the general condition of the body or mind with reference to soundness and vigor
  • The definition of care is: a state of mind in which one is troubled; worry, anxiety, or concern

Does this mean healthcare’s definition describes the soundness and vigor of your condition in a state of trouble and worry?!?! Surely not. Do no harm, right?

Access to good healthcare means access to good doctors, and visa versa. PerkSpot’s GoHealth insurance program provides just that. And it’ll do no harm to your sanity because – FINALLY – it’s making purchasing health insurance simple. Imagine the time your human resources department would save if it offered your employees this kind of voluntary benefit program and employee discount program. PerkSpot’s GoHealth does all the work AND explains things clearly. No need to find the real meaning in that. What it means is time saved and satisfied employees.

No harm done.

Buying Individual Health Insurance

Friday, July 17th, 2009

Sounds scary, right?

Probably because your corporate employees aren’t taking Voluntary Benefits For Beginners and Insurance 101 in high school. We’d bet that more folks could tell you how to say hello in 3 languages than could tell you the difference between an HMO and a PPO. (Hint: PPOs don’t require you to choose a primary care physician, and you don’t need referrals…but you’ll pay less if you stay in the network of your insurance company. With HMOs you MUST stay in the network, no ifs ands or buts. Get it?)

With GoHealth on PerkSpot’s employee discount program, understanding and purchasing insurance packages is straightforward and actually pretty easy. Just another great perk to simplify the process for both your human resources department and your employees.  Get the full story here (be sure to download the buyer’s guide…everything you could want to know, and in normal-sized text!) , but head over to our site to browse around to get an idea of how painless purchasing insurance and voluntary benefits can be.
